Fluoride Removal Water Filters

With the addition of fluoride to many regional areas within Australia, the need for safe drinking water is paramount. With fluoride clearly identified as a poison, as well as the potential health risks associated with its consumption, customers are looking for ways to remove fluoride from their drinking water. Whilst Reverse Osmosis is the only guaranteed means of consistent Fluoride Removal, we appreciate some consumers may be concerned at the total removal of minerals and/or waste water component and look for an alternative method of fluoride removal. ACTIVATED ALUMINI offers an alternate fluoride removal, with the media bonding with the fluoride molecules removing them from the water supply. PURESTREAM DO NOT RECOMMEND the use of ACTIVATED ALUMINA, however believe all consumers should be fully informed so as to make the right choice for them. If consumers understand the limitations of this media we are pleased to offer this unit and provide ongoing cartridges and support . Our main concerns are:
	The media has a life of 2000 litres dependant on a fluoride content of 2ppm. As we have discovered on the Gold Coast, due to human error, fluoride in our water has been double that amount at times. How do you know when your cartridge is saturated and it stops removing fluoride?.
	ACTIMATED ALUMINI will remove only 90% of Fluoride, and with limited fluoride removal capacity, diligent cartridge removal is important. As ACTIVATED ALUMINA only removes Fluoride, it must be combined with a premium carbon filter to remove volatile chemicals, Giardia etc. With a cartridge cost of $90, possibly every 6 months, plus premium carbon cartridge, this can be costly.
	There is also some concern as to the leaching of aluminium into the water supply
